Mom and I are starting to spend many weekends in Five Islands again. We have decided to change the house from a camp into a home. In a camp, any old fix is works. If something is broken, use duct tape. We have been painting, wallpapering, and doing the carpentry necessary to make the place a more comfortable place to be.

On the boat side of things. Mom is working on designing a dodger/bimini so we can avoid cold winds when at anchor. I am sanding the bottom below the waterline to see what condition our planks are in. So far, I think we are fine.

Hi All,
heres an update from my side of the world...
Still waiting on my work permit which is a good and a bad thing. Good as I can take days off whenever anyone is doing anything fun, bad in that Im not exactly increasing my wealth. The holidays were insane and busy but we got through with minor damage (A few concusions, no major boat damage). Last weekend I went to tortola with my friends Dom and Sam and we went camping and surfing for 3 days. Dom is teaching me to surf and I was doing pretty well but it got reallllly big the last two days so I mainly just played in the waves and took pictures. It was really fun just pitching our tent and camping on the beach for 2 nights. The breeze died out with the swell so the past 2 days have been really dead. The water is clear so snorkeling is pretty much the only thing guests can do. Our wake boarding boat is out which makes me very sad because the water is perfect right now.
Not much else is going on. Ive been running day sails whenever guests request them which keeps me pretty busy, babysitting on side for cash and working for Watersports for tips. In my spare time im trying to fix the kite Scotty gave me for christmas.
Thats me, hoping the breeze comes up. love you all

I guess its my turn!

I am here in Raleigh and pretty much settled in. I think I've talked to everyone but I'll just recap. Today starts my second week and we're not too busy...Mainly we just take phone calls, rip tickets and do anything else our two bosses tell us to do. In the office we have 3 interns (myself and 2 others) and we all get along pretty well. We also have our 2 immediate bosses who we apparently hang out with on weekends. Both good guys but its still weird.

State is proving to be a pretty horrible basketball team, losing by 31 on Saturday and not looking too great so far tonight. They're lazy and look like they've never played basketball before. Hopefully that will go away cuz I know they had some good games before our ACC play started.

My place has also worked out well. I'm living with a girl named Laura. We don't hang out all that much except for in the townhouse but we get along well and I'm sure we'll start doing more together if we start having similar schedules.

So thats really it for now, nothing too exciting but I feel I've lucked out with everything here (except I'll never enjoy the country southern accent). Hope all is well and talk to you soon!

Nothing is really new here. Life doesn't seem to change all that much. Reggie is still coaching, although one of his best players might be ineligible for the semester (academics) and it was his first big recruit at Tufts, so that's not so much fun. I get the feeling that he is about to pack it in at Tufts & is ready to move on. To what, I don't know and I am not sure he does either, so that makes life fun. As it is the middle of the season, the only job prospect is in Moorehead Minn. IF you google it, you will find that Moorehead is the twin city of Fargo North Dakota. So Kate, when the ND state job opens, take it because we might be neighbors! Obviously nothing will happen until after the season so, as Mom said, nothing to get worked up about.

As for me, things are going well in my classes. I somehow managed to get an A last semester, even though I totally pulled the paper out of no where. TO be fair, I had done the research, but started the writing a bit late. Shrewsbury is still fine, nothing new or exciting, although it looks like I will be teaching a senior elective next year, which is great.

Other than that, come visit! It's really not that far from Boston....
